I firmly believe makeup enhances natural beauty,it’s not always about “concealing” & “covering”.I wear makeup because I enjoy the whole process of putting it on,working on my eyes playing with different eyeshadows creating a gorgeous look,I love it all. It’s all about the confidence of carrying it out & not to impress anybody but yourself:)
Sometimes society does play a part in this, when you don’t have makeup on they refer to us as “Plain Jane” or even “Pale”.I am pretty fair skinned and I had someone tell me I look “Pale” without makeup, and all I did was respond with a smile because we don’t need validation from anyone on how we look good or what we look good in,sometimes people say things because they are insecure themselves.
What we really need to do is take care of our skin,as it is subjected to so many harsh things during the day.
1)Drinking a glass of Vitamin C
•Drink fresh lime juice which is loaded with Vitamin C and antioxidants that prevent the free radicals from damaging the skin
•It keeps the skin hydrated and nourished. And also reduces fine lines and wrinkles
Tip:I have been rubbing lime on my hands and décolletage, this not only evens out skin but also makes the skin look younger.I rub it on my hand and leave it on for 10-15 minutes then rinse it off.
2)Exfoliate twice a week
•You need to exfoliate the skin in order to remove all the dead skin cells in the outermost surface of the skin.
•if we don’t exfoliate regularly then the dead skin cells build up clogging pores and causing breakouts and also the skin won’t absorb the Creams/Mosituriser better.
3)Tinted Moisturizer with SPF
I personally don’t like wearing foundation everyday. So a tinted moisturizer will not only protect your skin and hydrate it but also add a slight touch of tint.
i can’t stress enough on the importance of wearing sunscreen.I have done a whole post on this.
•Sundamage will cause your skin to age prematurely and also cause pigmentation.
•Even if you are working from home,as long as your skin is exposed to sunlight coming from your windows, you have to wear sunscreen.
5)Don’t keep touching your face
•Just avoid touching your face altogether. Not only are we transferring the bacteria from our hands on to our face but we are also making our face drier.
•Don’t pick on pimples/blemishes
•A genuine smile does make anyone look good
•People will notice your smile more than anything else and not even notice that you are makeup-free
7)Most imprtantly follow a good skin care routine
Now this depends on the individual skin type, whether your skin is dry, oily and you would need products catering to that skin type.
CTM rule (Cleanse,Tone, moisturize)No matter how lazy you get always take your makeup off and moisturize your skin.
